Since 2010, Radio Plus has been on the airwaves for almost a decade and is still growing. Based in the former premises of Orion Media’s Mercia FM, Radio Plus, targets the whole of Coventry and Warwickshire with an audience of 16- 30 years old. Radio Plus is a non-profit charity organization, ran by nearly 60 volunteers. Radio Plus has a mission, where we want to inspire, influence and give an identity to a new generation of 16-22 years olds in the city of Coventry.

Having supported the winning UK City of Culture bid 2021 – we believe that the time is right to create a transformational narrative in the city of Coventry in which young volunteers are leading the reporting, programming and music scene in the Radio Plus digital media hub.  We need a new sound to emerge for Coventry’s future which has suffered through economic decline, recession and redundancies.

As a local community radio station we have had some great successes, including being awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2016 which recognized the exceptional work we have achieved with volunteers coming from a diversity of ages, ethnicity and faith.
